I am searching my family history and my grandmother was Alice Bennett and I believe her mother and father lived at Canal Lodge at some point. I also know very little about them, not even names.

Housed were built on the site, I own 22A, Parkfield Way, which has the foundations up to windows of the old Canal Lodge still in evidence, we have built decking on this to extend the garden, I have pictures if you are interested.

My mother and parents lived at Cnal Lodge from around the 1920's and as far as I remeber up to the 1960's. Their name was Bennett and I have a memory of going there in around 1953. I remember a large stone flagged kitchen with a back stair, no electricity, the sound of shunting trains in the night. Also, I played on the stone wall which I think bordered a field or park. My grandfather had horses and my mothers family all rode. I am researching my mothers family as she died in 1956 and I know very little about them all. Any information would be gratefully accepted.
