AWARD FOR JOSEPH RADCLIFFE
4th December 1813
We understand that Government have presented the Baronetage to Sir Joseph Radcliffe, of Milnsbridge, in the West
Riding of Yorkshire, clear of all expenses, expressly as a reward for his great exertions, to suppress Luddism, in that Riding. This is the only patent passed gratuitously for civil services for a
century or more.
