There was a gruesome sight to behold on Saturday 1st November 2003 at Lower Hopton Working Mens Club. The hallowe'en themed disco was filled with lots of little witches, zombies, skeletons and monsters and the room was decorated with spiders, webs, bats and balloons. The prizes for the fancy dress were awarded to Harry Richards in second place as a skeleton. First prize went to Courteney Day as a pumpkin. All entrants received a little prize. The night was fun-packed with games and dancing. Later in the night a cheque for £715 was presented to Zack Jones, the local boy with leukaemia, for his Disneyland fund. The money had been raised at a charity fundraiser night on June 14th this year. Presenting the cheque were organisers Vicky Smith and Darren Bryant. Mr Bryant told Zack and his family, "We hope from the bottom of our hearts that this helps". Zack's mum, Fiona, thanks everyone for all the support they have received.
