ARRESTS AT HUDDERSFIELD 4th April 1812
A person of the name of Beswick, from, Saddleworth, representing himself to be General. Ludd, was on Wednesday night
apprehended at a Public house in Huddersfield, with four of "his men," as he was pleased to call them, and placed in duress. The following morning the party underwent an examination before
Joseph Radcliffe, Esq. and the men were discharged on entering into recognizances for their good behaviour for twelve months; but the General was re-committed, and is this day to undergo a second
examination.
