My wife and i have just moved into mirfield on dyke close although we have lived in the surrounding area almost all our lives areas like gomersal, birstall ,staincliffe and batley i am quite aware of the history surrounding the area like robin hood and charlotte bronte but am really interested in finding out a bit more about mirfield it’s self especially the area i live in as when i have been walking my dog around the local fields i have noticed parts of old buildings and large pieces of stone and am fascinated by old pictures of the area is it true that i live in the area of the old fever hospital and if so could you please tell me if you have any pictures of the old hospital before all these flats and bungalows were built.
